A plug for an old prof of mine
Ages ago, I took several sociology classes at Regis College here in Denver (now Regis University). One my absolute favorite teachers was a man called Jeff Ferrell, a slightly wacky spikey-haired, left-of-center blond guy with an earring in his ear. So imagine my surprise last night, while watching "20/20," to hear his name. I of course whipped my head up to look at the screen, and there he was, speaking about the effects on society of the evacuations from Hurricane Katrina. Hair slightly less blond, but earring still firmly in place, and voice still with its mellow southern drawl. And so, with memories of a very good college career twanging round my head, I am using this post to plug Jeff Ferrell's books, which I have to admit I haven't read (as I said, he's left of my own views), but I do plan to. Apparently, he is now Doctor Jeff Ferrell, and has many books to his credit. Congratulations, Jeff!
