Hitler's Pope?
I saw an eye-opening program last night on EWTN, the Eternal Word Television Network. The show was Raymond Arroyo's "The World Over Live," and the guest was a Rabbi who has written a book about Pope Pius XII. The book is called The Myth of Hitler's Pope, and it answers quite neatly all of the liberal anti-Catholic claims that Pius XII was a silent pope who stood by and did nothing while millions of Jews were slaughtered by the Nazis.
Apparently, Pius was not only not silent, but himself saved thousands of Jews from certain death, to the point of hiding many at his personal villa at Castel Gandolfo.
Of course, libs and Catholic-haters don't want to hear that, and I have no doubt that this book will receive scathing reviews in the New York Times, but for everyone who wants a fair and balanced view of this pope, I'd say this book is essential reading. The fact that it was written by a Rabbi speaks volumes, and the fact that this Rabbi is himself a professor at a Catholic college adds substantial weight to his arguments. He points out that such Jewish notables as Golda Meir and Albert Einstein expressed high praise for Pope Pius XII, and Einstein did so in Time magazine, one of liberalism's bibles.
Oh, and one more thing. Rabbi Dalin points out that Hitler did indeed have a more than willing accomplice in religious circles--a Muslim leader, no less, named Hajj Amin al-Husseini. The lengthy Wikipedia article on this shining light of the Muslim world can be found at this link.

Warning to all parents of daughters! American Girl--deep ties to pro-abortion

American Girl Doll Company Helps Fund Pro-Abortion Group
The Pro-Life Action League is alerting parents that a seemingly innocent self-esteem campaign launched by the popular American Girl doll company is helping to support the pro-abortion, pro-lesbian agenda of Girls Incorporated.
In August, American Girl launched the "I Can" campaign, which involves a pledge and the purchase of a special bracelet. Seventy cents of each one-dollar bracelet sold will be donated to Girls Inc. American Girl is also donating an additional $50,000 to Girls Inc.
"Parents need to know that this effort to promote self-esteem among girls is not as innocent as it seems," commented League Executive Director Ann Scheidler. "While Girls Inc. has some good programs, they also support abortion, oppose abstinence-only education for girls, and condone lesbianism."
The Anti-Family Agenda of Girls Inc.
Excerpts from the Girls Inc. advocacy statement on girls' health makes their anti-family agenda clear (emphasis added):
"Girls Incorporated supports a woman's freedom of choice, a constitutional right established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 in Roe vs. Wade."
"To make responsible decisions about sexuality, pregnancy and parenthood, girls need and have a right to sensitive, truthful sexuality education; convenient access to safe, effective methods of contraception and protection from disease; and referral to comprehensive information, counseling, clinical and other services that support their responsible decisions."
"Girls have a right to positive, supportive environments and linkages to community resources for dealing with issues of sexual orientation."
In addition, Girls Inc.'s list [PDF] of "Sexuality Resources for Girls" includes books promoting premarital sex, birth control, contraception and abortion. And while Girls Inc. says they promote abstinence, their program for pregnancy prevention depends on providing birth control, and Girls Inc. opposed additional funding for abstinence education in the U.S. Senate.

Hollywood, biased? Surely you're joking!
Well, they're finally handing out stars in Hollywood to honor mediocre B-movie-level actresses. Of course, said crappy actresses are both flaming liberals, so why am I surprised that the star-bedecked sidewalk will now contain the names of Kirsten Dunst and Charlize Theron?

("Reindeer Games" also showcases an Oscar-worthy performance by Ben Affleck, by the way. And I hope the heavy sarcasm in that last sentence comes through clearly.)
