Ibae Baye T'orun
Mourn for the bayou
And the flowers withered
Mourn for the bayou
Mourn for the bayou
And the cemeteries drowned
Mourn for the bayou
Ajuba, all you hurt
Ajuba, all you wandering
Ajuba, all you gone
And gone away
Mourn for the bayou
And the Orishas fair
Mourn for the bayou
Mourn for the bayou
And Mama Marie
Three red crosses
Mourn for the bayou
Ashe
Ashe
Ashe
Ajuba, all you Eggun
Mourn for the bayou
(a pitiful attempt by me at a poem expressing sorrow at what has happened to New Orleans...)
