Of nutty outfits, and the Levy family
First, Katie Couric. Anyone watching the Today Show this a.m. cannot have failed to see a truly ludicrous and bizarre sight--Katie Couric in gigantic rubber waders up to her waist. Katie, honey, the water was barely up to your ankles--you looked insane. Truly insane.
But then again, as Rush Limbaugh always says, let the liberals keep talking, let them keep looking absolutely hysterical in waist-high waders. The world can see them for what they are.
Katie is the only--the only--news anchor to don waders, even when the water was deep enough to demand them. I personally cannot stand most national news anchors, but you've gotta hand it to them--they went into the water just like the people they were interviewing. But not Katie. Oh, no, not dear little Katie...
And now, for some sense amid the nonsense. The Levy family were interviewed on this morning's Early Show, an African-American family who are a striking contrast to the violent looters we all saw. They cannot wait to get Louisiana behind them. Angelique, the mother, said that once she reached soil other than Louisiana's, she was going to "kiss the ground." They know who to blame--they blame the State of Louisiana. And one of the charming sons, on finding his keyboard and various keyboard accessories intact in the family apartment, expressed shock that nobody had stolen them. This isn't some white chick (me) saying this stuff--this is a poor African-American family who cannot wait to put Louisiana as far behind them as they possibly can.
